After teaching hundreds of students of all ages, Nelly has developed a successful approach to mastering the Italian language.  Going beyond just rote memorization, Nelly’s goal is to teach students to converse about every day life like a true Italian native. Nelly works closely with students focusing on three critical areas:

LAYING THE FOUNDATION – PROPER GRAMMAR

Utilizing a proven, university-level curriculum that teaches in context, Nelly helps build the essential foundation for speaking and understanding the Italian.  Through a complete education- from simple grammatical structure and practical vocabulary through more advanced tenses-  Students will work their way through a series of lessons which include stories and written grammatical exercises that will increasingly build their proficiency.

CONVERSATION

Nelly believes that speaking and listening are equally important to become fluent in Italian.  As a native speaker, Nelly provides a relaxed forum in which to put language.

LANGUAGE AND CULTURE

Integrating language and culture is important for a good speaker of language.

PRACTICE

Nelly’s students have a deep foundation and grasp of the Italian language. Many of them have continued to study weekly with Nelly for many years as a way to deepen their skill .
